Chris Evans combats hair loss with Propecia.

It was reported in the Daily Mail last week that Chris Evans has been using Propecia tablets to combat hair loss, as he has been worried about going bald for a few years. But Chris has revealed that the treatment is working so well it has backfired - and has noticed hair growing in his ears and nose. In January, Sir Elton John was a guest on Evans's show and they spoke about losing their hair. Chris, who is a natural redhead, admitted that he had recently dyed it. He said: "I’ve been having issues with my hair. It’s too white for the telly. It looks too old so I had it coloured, but it’s over-coloured for real life. It’s OK for TV, but in real life it’s not." Three years ago, Evans was also left in despair over his hair when his doctor advised him not to eat any more butter or cheese because the foods encourage a form of eczema that 'pushes the hair follicles out of my head'. He told his audience: He would make a very bad bald man; I don't have the right shaped head for it or the right chin, or the right skin colour.  Round faced, dark skinned blokes look great bald, better than they do with hair for the most part, but wirey red and otherwise pasty ginger blokes look dreadful. Leading UK Trichologist David Bailey said, "I think Chris has got it wrong, Propecia may be helping his scalp hair loss, but it would not make hairs grow longer in his ears and nose...that's down to his age. He may get even better results if he uses Regaine Scalp Foam at the same time." 2015 Update: Find out how Chris Evans has continued to fight his hair loss 4 years on...
