When used correctly, both versions of Warticon should be equally effective.
How does Warticon work?
The active ingredient in Warticon is Podophyllotoxin. This is an antiviral to be applied directly to the warts. The medication works by penetrating the wart cells, preventing them from dividing and spreading. These cells are eventually killed off and replaced by healthy new skin cells, replacing the damaged skin.

How to use Warticon
When you buy Warticon online for genital warts, applying the medication will vary slightly depending on if you are using the cream or solution.
Before applying Warticon, make sure to wash the affected area(s) with soap and water, then dry the area down with a clean towel.
Both Warticon Cream and Warticon Solution are applied once in the morning and once in the evening (every 12 hours) for 3 consecutive days. For the next 4 days do not apply any Warticon (this counts as a single course of treatment).
The Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) states that a maximum of 4 treatment courses may be applied. If any warts remain after this period, you should see your own doctor.
How to apply Warticon Cream
Using a fingertip, apply the exact amount of cream that is required to cover each wart, rubbing the cream into the wart(s). Should you accidentally apply cream to healthy skin, this should be washed off as soon as possible. Wash your hands thoroughly after you have finished applying Warticon Cream.
How to apply Warticon Solution
Simply dip the ‘loop’ end of the applicator into the solution. If you have a larger wart (e.g. up to the size of a postage stamp), or lots of warts within a small area, dip the ‘spatula’ end of the applicator into the solution. Then apply the solution to a wart until it is fully covered by solution, again making sure to avoid ‘healthy’ skin. Wash away any excess if you apply the solution to healthy skin. Next, wait for it to dry and repeat these steps to apply the solution to all warts. Wash your hands thoroughly after you have finished applying Warticon Solution.
