What is Tetralysal (Lymecycline) for?

Lymecycline or the branded version, Tetralysal 300 (manufactured by pharmaceutical company Galderma), is prescription-only tetracycline type antibiotic taken orally to effectively treat acne, usually moderate to severe acne.
How does Tetralysal (Lymecycline) work?
Tetralysal’s active ingredient is Lymecycline and this is a type of tetracycline antibiotic. Although the medication is prescribed for different bacterial infections, it is most often prescribe to treat acne vulgaris.
Acne is usually caused by bacteria known as ‘Propionebacterium acnes’ which exist on your skin. They thrive from excess sebum (an oily, waxy substance) produced by the sebaceous glands, resulting in spots, whiteheads, inflammation, and in certain cases large cysts.
Lymecycline prevents this acne bacteria from growing and multiplying, killing the bacteria off and this lets your skin recover from the infection and inflammation.
