What is Spedra for?

Spedra (Avanafil) is a popular and effective treatment for erectile dysfunction. It works quicker than other oral ED medications, with many men able to achieve better erections in just 15 minutes. For this reason alone, some men may want to buy Spedra to treat their ED.

The effects can generally last for about 4 to 5 hours, although it should be noted this doesn’t mean you will have a constant erection for this amount of time.

How does Spedra work?

Spedra works by helping the blood vessels to relax. This increases the blood flow into your penis, helping it stay hard and erect when you get sexually excited. It is important to note that like other ED medications, Spedra only works if you are sexually stimulated. You and your partner will still need to use foreplay to get ready for sex – just as you probably would if you were not taking a medicine to help you.

How to take Spedra

Spedra’s active ingredient is Avanafil, and the medication comes in tablet form in varying strengths; 50mg, 100mg & 200mg.

After you buy Spedra, always take the medicine exactly as your doctor has told you, or as outlined in the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL). Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

You should not take Spedra more than once a day. You may have been prescribed 200mg if your doctor has decided that the 100mg dose was too weak for you, or 50mg if your doctor has decided that the 100mg tablet was too strong for you.

Your doctor may wish to adjust your dose if Spedra is used together with certain other medicines. If you are taking a medicine such as erythromycin, amprenavir, aprepitant, diltiazem, fluconazole, fosamprenavir or verapamil (‘moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors’) the recommended dose of Spedra is a 100mg tablet, with an interval of at least 2 days between doses.

You should take Spedra about 30 minutes (50mg) or approximately 15 to 30 minutes (100mg and 200mg) before you have sexual intercourse. Remember that Spedra will only help you to get an erection if you are sexually stimulated.

Spedra can be taken with or without food; if taken with food, it may take longer to work.

What are the possible side effects of Spedra?

Side effects are rare, and most people don’t get any. Possible side effects may vary from one person to the next, as with any medication. You should always read the manufacturer’s Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) before taking this or any other medication.
