Man faces jail after being caught with 7,000 fake Viagra and Cialis pills.
Curtis Henry 52 from USA admitted he bought about 7,000 fake Viagra and Cialis pills online from China and sold them for $2 to $3 apiece illegally, twice what he paid.
The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle reports (http://on.rocne.ws/vixVO4 ) that Curtis Henry pleaded guilty Tuesday to attempting to import counterfeit pharmaceuticals.
In June, federal agents intercepted a package addressed to Henry that included 520 suspected counterfeit Viagra pills and 220 suspected counterfeit Cialis tablets. Tests showed they were illegal copies. He said he sold them only to people he knew.
Henry said he originally bought the tablets online, and knew they probably were not authentic because of their price, according to court papers. He said “he had been doubling his money by buying the counterfeit tablets from China, then selling them throughout Rochester,” court papers say.
In his plea, he admitted to the illegal importation of the June order of 740 pills. Under recommended sentencing guidelines, Henry faces a sentence of six months to a year. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Valentine’s Day 2012.
