The TGA of Australia issue safety advisory after reports of online purchases of an illegal erectile dysfunction drug

A ‘safety advisory notice’ has been issued by The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia in response to reports of people being able to purchase an illegal erectile dysfunction drug online named ‘Miraculous Evil Root’.

The product is prohibited from being sold in Australia and the TGA have moved quick to issue the caution to any future customers of the illegal product. This comes after tests were carried out on the pills and traces of sildenafil were discovered. Sildenafil is the active ingredient in the popular erectile dysfunction medication Viagra and this should only be obtained by prescription from a physician who has knowledge of their health history and any medications that they may be taking.

Alarmingly, the box of Miraculous Evil Root claims that it is a pure natural product. This poses potentially deadly risks to those who have history of heart attack or diagnosis of heart failure. In a statement released by the TGA they commented “Miraculous Evil Root tablets have not been assessed by the TGA for quality, safety or efficacy as required under Australian legislation, and the place of manufacture is not approved by the TGA”. The agency has subseqeuently teamed up with Border Protection Services and The Australian Customs in an effort to prevent any forthcoming shipments of Miraculous Evil Root tablets from coming into Australia.

I certainly learned about most of this, but however, I still assumed it was practical. Beautiful post!
