Father and son sentenced in Viagra scam

A father and Son from Canadian will spend a up to a year in prison and probation for importing and selling fake Viagra and Cialis.

Federal prosecutors claim 59-year-old James Armstrong, a retired dentist, and his 28-year-old son, Gregory, imported thousands of illegal tablets from China and India.

Border agents intercepted a shipment in Los Angeles and investigators say 22 packages of counterfeit male impotence medication arrived in the U.S. over the course of a year. James Armstrong was arrested last April while picking up a shipment at a mail box business in Blaine.

A judge chastised the Armstrongs for putting people at risk of death. The elder Armstrong must pay $30,000 fine. His son gets a year and a day in prison and a $5,000 fine.

The judge must still decide if the men owe restitution to Pfizer & Eli Liily the drug companies who make the genuine prescription medication.
