What is Imigran Nasal Spray?
Imigran Nasal Spray contains Sumatriptan which is used to treat migraine headache. Imigran Nasal Spray is a prescription drug and is administered into one nostril to relieve a migraine attack. The medicine is absorbed into the bloodstream through the blood vessels lining the nose and starts to work within about 15 minutes. It may be particularly useful for people who feel sick or vomit during their migraine attack, as it is not taken by mouth. Migraine symptoms may be caused by the temporary widening of blood vessels in the head. Imigran is believed to reduce the widening of these blood vessels. This in turn helps to take away the headache and relieve other symptoms of a migraine attack, such as feeling or being sick (nausea or vomiting) and sensitivity to light and sound.
