What is Eropid for?

Eropid is an over-the-counter treatment for erectile dysfunction which contains 50mg of the active ingredient Sildenafil. It is lower in cost compared to prescription-only treatments for the condition.

Up until 2018, men could only obtain Sildenafil as a prescription-only medication (POM). However, health authorities agreed that men aged 18 and over and suffering with ED should be able to get Sildenafil as a Pharmacy (P) medication in the UK. The purpose of this was to increase awareness of ED as well as accessibility to genuine, effective medications. This both improves relationships and the quality of life for men, but better affordability for ED medications means that men do not need to risk buying suspect medications from illegal websites.

This led to Viagra Connect becoming available, and has now been followed by Eropid, a cost-effective version available to buy without prescription at Medical Specialists®.

How does Eropid work?

Eropid lasts for approximately around 4 hours, giving you and your partner ample time for excitement and spontaneity. Eropid, like other oral ED medications, also belongs to a class of medication known as PDE5 inhibitors. It works at increasing blood flow to the penis, helping you to achieve and maintain an erection. It’s important to remember that when you buy Eropid for erectile dysfunction, sexual stimulation is still required for the drug to work.

What's the difference between Eropid and Viagra?

Although both Eropid and Viagra contain Sildenafil, Eropid is available only in a strength of 50mg tablets, although this is a common dose that men often take. The main difference between the two is that Viagra is a prescription-only medication, whereas you can order Eropid without a prescription and ‘over-the-counter’. However, you would still need to answer health questions face-to-face if you went into your local pharmacy to buy Eropid. Moreover, Eropid is a lot cheaper to buy online than its branded counterpart making it ideal if you are on a budget or wanting to save money.

What's the difference between Eropid and Viagra Connect?

Eropid and Viagra Connect share similarities in that both are only available to buy in a strength of 50mg tablets and are both non-prescription medications. However, the main difference is the price. You can buy Eropid online for ED at a slightly cheaper price. Therefore, if you want to try Sildenafil without the inconvenience of a trip to your GP, over-the-counter Eropid could be the ideal solution.

How to take Eropid

Eropid should be taken about 30-60 minutes before sex, and can be effective for up to approximately 4 hours. According to the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL), you should only take one dose of Eropid per day.

Eropid can be taken with or without food, but if you do take it with food, it is not advisable to eat a big meal or one that is high in fat, as the medication could become less effective.

What are the possible side effects of Eropid?

Side effects are rare, and most people don’t get any. Possible side effects may vary from one person to the next, as with any medication. You should always read the manufacturer’s Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) before taking this or any other medication.
