How does Diclofenac work?

Diclofenac Sodium Gastro-Resistant tablets are one of a number of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which means they block the COX-2 and COX-1 enzymes responsible for prostaglandin production.

Prostaglandins are a major factor in causing inflammation by contributing to the development of redness, swelling, heat, and pain. With less prostaglandins, you experience less inflammation and pain.

The Diclofenac Sodium tablet is a Gastro-Resistant. This means it is covered with a coating that stops the tablet from dissolving in the acidic conditions of the stomach, so that the Diclofenac can only be released further down in your gut, dissolving in the small intestine. This process prevents the tablet from causing irritation to the lining of your stomach.

How to take Diclofenac Tablets
