Important Information before you order Azithromycin Tablets
Please note: You will need to supply your doctor's details in your consultation to enable us to supply this antibiotic medication. This is so we can inform your doctor of your request for private treatment to adhere to good antimicrobial stewardship, and to minimise the risk of antibiotic resistance from overuse.
Please note: We only prescribe this medication if you have been diagnosed with chlamydia, or have a sexual partner who has been diagnosed with chlamydia. We DO NOT prescribe Azithromycin for chest infections, sinusitis, etc. Please speak to your own doctor for treatment if you have symptoms of these conditions. We reserve the right to immediately cancel and refund an order placed for any condition/reason other than chlamydia (with a diagnosis, or sexual partner diagnosed with chlamydia).
Please note: Azithromycin is NOT the recommended treatment for chlamydia accordingly to the latest guidance, and should instead be treated with Doxycycline 100mg twice daily for 7 days.
Please note: You can only buy Azithromycin if you are allergic to Tetracyclines such as Doxycycline, or are pregnant, or are trying to get pregnant.
What is Azithromycin for?
If you or your partner has been diagnosed, then the antibiotic Azithromycin is NOT usually the first of line treatment.
However, there may be certain situations where Tetracyclines are not advisable and in fact Azithromycin may be appropriate. If you are allergic to Tetracyclines, or are pregnant, or are trying to get pregnant, then we can prescribe Azithromycin online.
It is important to remember that you should always try to treat the infection as early as possible. If the infection is left untreated it can cause serious complications, such as infertility in both men and women.
How does Azithromycin work?
As bacteria has caused the sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the first place, the antibiotic Azithromycin works by killing the bacteria, therefore preventing the bacteria from reproducing. You can buy Azithromycin online if you cannot tolerate Tetracyclines, are pregnant, or trying to get pregnant.
How to take Azithromycin
Azithromycin should be taken an hour before meals or at least two hours after you have eaten.
Patients are required to take:
- A single dose of 1000mg (4 x 250mg tablets) on the first day, followed by 500mg (2 x 250mg tablets) for 2 days. This means you need 8 x 250mg tablets.
Azithromycin will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu.
You should wait around two weeks before taking another STI test to make sure that you are completely cured.
Always complete the course, even if your symptoms have cleared.
After you buy chlamydia treatment Azithromycin, always read the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) included in the medication packet and speak to your own doctor if you are unsure about how to take the medicine or have any other concerns.
What are the possible side effects of Azithromycin?
Side effects are rare, and most people don’t get any. Possible side effects may vary from one person to the next, as with any medication. You should always read the manufacturer’s Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) before taking this or any other medication.
This will give you important instructions on how and when to take the medication, as well as any possible side effects of the drug.
