Skin is the largest organ of the human
body, and covers it from the tips of our toes to the
top of our scalp. Although most people look upon the
skin and scalp separately, they are in fact the same
material. Most people at some time in their lives feel
that their skin may need moisturising and nourishing,
but would never think of doing the same to their scalp.
As the human skin and scalp is bombarded by ultraviolet
rays, cold winds, dry or humid conditions, and is the
host to a range of bacteria; it is essential that we
look after it. Failure to do this can lead to ultraviolet
damage to our skin and therefore early signs of wrinkling
and ageing. On the scalp, scaling can ensue and infection
set in which can lead to a multitude of problems including
scaring and hair loss.

Rejuvenation and Anti Ageing Products
Having perfect skin all our lives is not possible, but
improving the way it looks is, with certain products.
These reduce the appearance of acne and the fine wrinkle
lines around our face, which make us look older, and
variations of tretinoin, certain oral contraceptives
and other products, have clearly been demonstrated by
medical research to do this.

Retin-A (Anti ageing and wrinkles Treatment) |
| |
Retin-A (Tretinoin) is a derivative of Vitamin A and is used for the treatment of acne and wrinkles. Retin-A is the only topical medicine that has been clinically proven to improve wrinkles. It works by increasing skin cell turnover promoting new layers of skin. It also prevents the formation of acne. |

Dianette (Acne Treatment) |
| |
Dianette is a combination of an oestrogen and an anti-androgen.
Dianette is recommended for use in women for the treatment of severe acne and moderately severe hirsutism. Complete remission of acne is to be expected in nearly all cases, often within a few months, but in particularly severe cases treatment for longer may be necessary before the full benefit is seen. |

Spironolactone (Acne Treatment) |
| |
Spironolactone is an anti-androgen. Androgen hormones, like testosterone, are typically thought of as male hormones. But androgens are also present in the female body, although in lower levels. Spironolactone blocks androgen receptors in the body, preventing cells from absorbing androgen hormones. Spironolactone limits hormonal fluctuations that may contribute to acne breakouts. Hormones, specifically androgens, have been linked to the development of acne. Spironolactone is used as an acne treatment for women only. It is only effective against acne caused by hormonal fluctuations. But it can be especially helpful for women with hormonal disorders that trigger acne or who suffer with other problems, like unwanted facial hair. |
