Viagra Found In Coffee In Malaysia
Over 900 boxes of Coffee confiscated in Malaysia were found to contain Viagra. Apparently they were being marketed as an energy booster.
The coffee/ energy booster had been distributed in sachets throughout world. Investigations revealed that the distributor attempted to mislead the general public by claiming the mixture could provide an energy boost, besides being beneficial for men.
Whether the Viagra in the coffee mixture was genuine or an illegal copy is yet to be confirmed, but Pfizer Viagra is a prescription only medicine and cannot be added to another product and sold for another use such as an energy booster.
In Britain last year, tens of thousands of men bought Viagra online. (The worldwide market for the drug is worth £1.1 billion.)
Viagra is just one example of the counterfeit drug production that is becoming a "worldwide problem", according to Naeem Ahmed, the head of intelligence at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
