What is Levitra?

Like all medicines, Levitra can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Most of the effects are mild or moderate.

Before taking Levitra:

Before taking this medication ensure you have given a full medical history to the doctor, especially of: penis conditions (e.g., angulation, fibrosis/scarring, Peyronie's disease), history of painful/prolonged erection (priapism), sickle cell anaemia, blood system cancers (e.g., leukaemia or myeloma), eye problems (e.g., retina diseases like retinitis pigmentosa), kidney disease, liver disease, bleeding disorders, active stomach ulcers, heart problems (e.g., recent heart attack or serious arrhythmia within past 6 months, coronary artery disease with unstable angina, aortic stenosis, idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis), recent stroke within past 6 months, very high or low blood pressure, and any other questions in the online consultation.

Levitra (Vardenafil) may cause a condition that affects the heart rhythm (QT prolongation). QT prolongation can infrequently result in serious (rarely fatal) fast/irregular heartbeat and other symptoms (such as severe dizziness, fainting) that require immediate medical attention. If you are having kidney dialysis
If you have recently had a stroke or heart attack
If you have low blood pressure
If you are taking medicines containing nitrates. Taking these medicines with Levitra could seriously affect your blood pressure.
If you are taking ritonavir or indinavir, medicines for HIV.
If you are over 75 years of age and are taking ketoconazole or itraconazole, anti-fungal medicines
If your family has a history of degenerative eye diseases (such as retinitis pigmentosa)
If you have ever had a loss of vision because of non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION)
