Acne

Acne is a very common skin disorder which usually affects the face, but may also affect the back, neck, and chest. It is estimated that 9 in 10 teenagers develop some degree of acne, with 30% having it bad enough to need treatment to prevent scarring. Our Doctors are able to prescribe very effective acne treatments (e.g. Dianette, Retin-A and a non hormonal therapy) to suitable patients.
Female Hair Loss
Approximately 40% of women experience some sort of hair loss at some time in their life. Medical Specialists are one of the pioneers in female hair loss treatment in the UK, and have been treating female hair loss since 1980 with privately prescribed medication. Medical Specialists have always had qualified Trichologists and Doctors, supplying the best possible treatments with significant visible results, and below is a list of the latest treatments that are available online for the treatment of female hair loss to help you overcome any embarrassment this may cause.

Our Doctors can prescribe oral medication for the treatment of female hair loss which is very effective. Treatments start from as little as £9.99 a month.
These medications treat female pattern baldness (thinning to the top of the scalp), but not Alopecia Areata (AA). AA is where the patient's hair falls out leaving a smooth round bald patch of skin. Regaine for women is a better treatment for AA[4]. See below for Regaine treatment.
Hair loss which is evenly distributed across the scalp is called chronic telogen effluvium (CTE). Research has established a link between hair loss (CTE) and low serum ferritin values.[1,2]
To stop this hair loss, ferritin levels need to be increased quickly and 72mg of iron is needed for up to 6 months. For a significant number of women, this level of iron intake will not stop the hair loss unless they also take L-lysine plus Vitamin C and B12 to aid absorption of iron. Florisene has been specially developed to provide these nutrients at the specific level, which will overcome this type of hair loss problem. See below for Florisene treatment.
We strongly recommend the addition of Florisene with any hair loss treatment.
Regaine for Women
Regaine for Women is specially formulated topical lotion for female hair loss, containing active ingredient Minoxidil – the only clinically proven treatment applied direct to the scalp to treat women’s thinning hair. Also works in Alopecia Areata.[4]
Treatment from as little as £19.37 per month
Florisene
General thinning of the hair is a major worry to many women. This type of hair loss can take long time to develop and cannot be corrected overnight. Florisene® has been formulated by a leading UK Trichologist to provide certain essential nutrients to help maximise hair growth in women with this type of hair loss. Florisene® is especially recommended for women who have reduced hair volume (compared with several years ago) or who have recently noticed hair shedding as seen by more hairs in the brush, comb or when shampooing.
We strongly recommend the addition of Florisene with any hair loss treatment.
Price: £13.95 per pack - also available in triple pack for only £36.95
