CIALIS

Cialis is a prescription based medicine belonging to the group of medicines called phosphodiesterase inhibitor. Cialis is used to treat Erectile Dysfunction (male impotence). It works by helping to increase blood flow into the penis during the sexual activity.

Cialis dosage and how to take Cialis?

Cialis can help achieve an erection when sexual stimulation occurs. An erection will not occur just by taking Cialis. Take Cialis exactly as directed by the Doctor in the recommended dosage. Do not take it in larger doses or for longer than recommended the Doctor. Do not take Cialis more than once a day. Allow 24 hours to pass between doses.

Cialis can be taken with a full glass of water before or after meals. Take Cialis just before sexual activity.

Do not take Cialis in the following cases

Do not take Cialis if you are on a nitrate drug for chest pain or heart problem or if you are using recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate or nitrite (also known as poppers). Taking Cialis with a nitrate medicine can cause a serious decrease in blood pressure and further problems.

Do not forget to tell your Doctor if you have any of the following problems.

  • Heart disease
  • A recent history of heart attack
  • Stroke (in the past six months)
  • High or low blood pressure
  • Angina
  • Stomach ulcer
  • Blood cell disorder
  • Physical deformity of penis
  • Bleeding disorder
  • Liver disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Retinitis pigmentosa

Cialis side effects

Following are the reported Cialis side effects. Please see the patient information leaflet for a complete list of side effects and seek immediate medical help if you experience any side effect. This list may not contain all the side effects therefore it is a good idea to speak to your Doctor about any possible side effects before taking Cialis.

  • Upset stomach
  • Back ache
  • Headache
  • Muscle ache

Things to avoid when taking Cialis

Avoid drinking alcohol when you take Cialis, because it can increase some of the side effects of Cialis. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may cause problems with Cialis. Discuss the use of grapefruit products with your Doctor.
